“I was really keen to work on cars and machines. Whenever my parents used to buy anything from a store, maybe a radio or a telephone, the next day it would be in my hands and I would open it up with a screwdriver. This made me feel like working towards mechanical engineering.
In the beginning, I was really scared because it was completely a new place for me with new people. But as time flew, the International Study Centre really settled me in well. I started having that feeling of family and I didn’t miss home anymore as I used to. The teachers were interactive, loving and caring. The whole staff of the International Study Centre were extremely welcoming and helpful.
The best thing about studying in the UK is that you’ll improve your language a lot, because you’ll be studying with a vast amount of people from around the world. You’ll be communicating with them, and then you’ll be able to make good conversations.

"My name is Talal Malik and I'm from Pakistan. I did my foundation year, over here in physics and engineering and to be honest it was one of the best experiences in my life. I really enjoyed it. Sussex is actually a very good place for mechanical engineering. They have really good teachers, they have all the facilities, you need. Labs, instruments. And then whenever you want to work, we have 24 hours access to libraries and everything. Mechanical engineering was mother of all engineering because it has all the subjects coming into it, like the electrical, civil and other others as well. So, you have like a good exposure to all the engineering in one subject. Whenever my parents used to buy anything from store, maybe a radio, or any telephone or anything. The next day. It used to be my hand with the screwdriver, opening it up. So kind of that also made me feel like, working towards mechanical engineering. Academically, you'll have the best experience in your life. You will learn a lot, the best thing which I I love is that you will improve on your language a lot because you'll be studying with a vast amount of people. A vast majority of people will be from around the world. I want to make cars, I want to work in a company, which makes cars. I want to work for them. I want to make the best cars possible."
