“From the start of my course at the International Study Centre, I felt supported. I came to the International Study Centre with a 5-month-old baby and was totally supported both academically and personally to be able to complete my International Foundation Year in Life Sciences and Psychology.
I was given extra writing skills in the second term and was able to improve my score to over 70%. This really helped me in my degree.
The benefit of studying at the International Study Centre is they prepare you for university. So when you start your course you have an idea on how to take notes, and writing and reading.
My favourite thing about being an international student is exploring the new culture and meeting people from different backgrounds. We sit together, we work together in the lab as a group and we support each other.
The advice I would like to give to international students is don’t give up and try your hardest. Just keep doing your best and you will get there.”

International Foundation Year in Life Sciences and Psychology
"My name is Rehab. I'm from Saudi Arabia, I studied Life Science and Psychology course. And then I start my degree in the Sussex University Biomedical Sciences. Studying at Sussex University, gives you a diverse like models, you can have in your degree and then you can see what your strengths and what you want to do in your future. I chose to study biomedical science in UK because it's given me more like options in the future to go for like as I said, like for medicine and for like, further study to be a researcher or working in a lab. The benefit of studying at the the Study Centre, they prepare you for University. They give you the skills you need. So when you start your course, you have idea how you taking notes and all this kind of stuff, they will provide it to you. They will teach you how you use them. I'm having like, my publish work about the first human combined protein, which we solved in the lab. My favourite thing being international student is exploring the new culture stuff, meeting people from different backgrounds, we support each other. Bit of advice I would like to give an international student, just don't give up and do your best and you will get it. Maybe soon, maybe later you will get it. Definitely."
